A new file type has been invented to allow for High Efficiency Image Format (HEIF).   This new format allows for digital photographs to be created in smaller files sizes, all while retaining higher image quality than its JPEG alternative.  HEIF is critical since our iPhone cameras get more and more powerful.   Apple iPhones often uses this new format when sending pictures in text messages. 

The "Image Loading" is Keepster processing the HEIF images to display in your Backup.  It can take a few minutes to convert the HEIF image, so please be patient.  But, once processed you will see the image will pop into the message container.  If you know what image it is, you don't need to wait for it to complete processing.  You can select it and add to a Keepster folder. 

You might see some images that look like there is a duplicate image overlapping each other when browsing your messages in your backup.  This is a result of Keepster processing your HEIC or Live photos.  But, don't worry ... when you select the image and add to a Keepster folder the duplication issue will be resolved.  Once the image has been added to a Keepster folder, it will appear as you would expect.  Also, the duplication issue is resolved when making your Keepster Books.

Sorry, the sizes of the pictures that you have chosen to save to your Keepster folders and print in your Keepster books are a fixed size.  The size of the pictures has been carefully considered based on the size of the Keepster books. 

When previewing your Keepster book, you might notice that some pages with pics have a lot of white space.  This typically happens when you have 2 or more portrait pictures without many text messages saved to your folder.   We recommend adding more text messages to your folder that are just before or after the picture chronologically to fill the space.  

"Image Not Available" is displayed when Keepster ran into an issue processing the picture to display in your Backup.  The issue occurs typically due to one of the following reasons:

• Something went wrong during the processing of the HEIF image    (What is a HEIF image? - see below*)
• Processing of the image timed-out after trying for 10 seconds

Even though something might have gone wrong in the processing of the image to display in your Backup.  If you know what image it is, you can select it and add to a Keepster folder.  You will likely see that the image does appear correctly in your Folder.
